Cycle number 10 will be our first Saturday cycle and our third visit to the Hodson Bay in Athlone with a new route but keeping it nice and flat! It’s always humbling to see so many join this amazing community event that brings us together to raise essential funds for Matthew ensuring he can continue living happily at home with his family.

Our route to Athlone will be an easy cycle covering a distance of approx 155km, split into 4 legs of approx 40km each. After the first leg we will have a break where teas, coffees and refreshments will be served, then after the 2nd leg a nice lunch break with another refreshment break after the 3rd leg before we have the final spin through Athlone and over to the Hodson Bay.

All levels of skill are welcome and much encouraged. Those who took part in previous years have had various levels of fitness and ability (so don’t let that put you off). Previous participants also ranged from those who have not ridden a bike in over 30 years to the more competitive riders for whom cycling is an ongoing passion.

The cycle will be a one day cycle – Saturday September 12th – setting off at 08:30 and arriving in Athlone at approx 5:30pm in the evening where we will have a celebration dinner and party. Each cyclist is expected to raise approx €250 for the charity – Sponsorship Cards will be provided well in advance of the cycle so we can start the fundraising early and the website facilitates online donations.

We hope you can get involved in any way you can. It’s a fantastic weekend of fun and most importantly all to support a wonderful young man!

Included in the entry fee (210€) is Lunch, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast, the refreshments at the cycling breaks and the Coaches home.

So please join our cycle this year to support Matthew and provide him with the care he needs. You can register your interest in the cycle by clicking this link or numbers below, email to mightymatthewcycle@gmail.com or WhatsApp to Liam 086 3857954 or Paul 086 8101752.
