2019 Cycle

We are delighted to announce the 5th Annual MightyMatthew Coast to Coast Charity Cycle and this year we are going back to our roots and where it all started in 2015. Starting off once again at the fantastic Pigeon House Restaurant Clontarf on the East Coast we’ll head west again to the beautiful town of Westport on the Atlantic coast.

With four cycles behind us we hope that this years can be the best yet. All levels of skill are welcome and much encouraged. Those who took part in previous years have had various levels of fitness and ability (so don’t let that put you off). Previous participants also ranged from those who have not ridden a bike in over 30 years to the more competitive riders for whom cycling is an ongoing passion.

The cycle will run over 2 days – Friday 23rd August and Saturday 24th August 2019. On Friday 23rd we will set off and cycle approximately 150km to our stop over location – Athlone. Early on the Saturday morning we will hit the road again for the remaining 145km to Westport visiting some of the great places we went through in 2015.

The entry fee which covers the cost for Cycling Insurance, 2 nights Hotel Accommodation and meals, will be similar to previous years (260€). A Mighty Matthew cycling top will also be provided to all of the cyclists.

Each cyclist is required to raise a minimum of €500 for the charity – Sponsorship Cards will be provided well in advance of the cycle so we can start the fundraising early and the website facilitates online donations.

Our group training cycles will  start again in a few weeks when the weather gets a bit warmer and we get back on the road. We have a special deal in with Little Sports Cycling shop for those who need to purchase or upgrade a bike or any other cycling equipment required

We hope you can get involved in any way you can! It’s a fantastic weekend of fun and most importantly, all to support a wonderful young man!
